Learn to Let Go

Please.
For the sake of your health and sanity, learn to let go.  Often I get requests from clients who desperately want to heal, but they set boundaries. There are things that they simply will not do, even if it means healing.

Here's an example:

"I have the beginnings of a painful sinus infection and I need help! I can't sleep and I do not own a Neti pot. Any suggestions?"

I want to say, "Yes. Get a Neti pot", but instead, I recommend things that he will tolerate, which is so silly.
I liken this to someone asking me, "How can I get my dirty hands clean? I don't own soap and water".
Your nasal passages are coated with bacteria and dust and other debris, so you need to wash it out. Any pill you take will only over ride your symptoms. It will not fix anything.

So, if you say that you want help, please allow help to come to you. If you want to be able to help yourself, remove all conditions. Be free!

Much Love!

Enlightenment ....and mentors.

It's true that we all need some guidance to learn the tools needed to find our way in the Universe, and mentors or teachers are invaluable. But there comes a point when we need to break free of them all. To search within ourselves for our very own personal answers to our questions.

 "What is my purpose?"

"What is it that I need to accomplish with this life?"

If we cling to any one teaching or teacher, we limit ourselves to the things they know, and we cannot find our personal truth. It could be a church, it may be an author, or it could be a very well respected guru, but none of them is you. Not one of them can tell you the meaning of your life. They provide the tools, then we need to take off on our own to find our spirits.

Think of these teachings as apprenticeships. We do our time, learning and studying very hard; Honing our crafts, and filling our toolboxes. Then, when our time comes, we must pick up that toolbox and strike out on our own.
I don't want to go to my grave quoting Jesus, Deepak or Wayne. I want to go quoting the Great Spirit.

Be your own Buddha.

I spent a great deal of both time and money, perfecting the many different methods of spirituality that appealed to me. I started with a bible based, non-denomination church. I believed that Jesus was indeed the way, the truth and the light, but I had a very tough time with Christians. Never met a more judgmental group of folks in my life. Through prayer (talking to God) and meditation (listening for his answers) I was finally led to leave the church. It was heartbreaking! The church was my family, but I was not growing anymore. I had to move on.

I got back to my roots; nature. I sat with the animals, trees and plants and I began to remember who I was and who I used to be. I asked myself the hard questions, the ones I posed above, and I must say that I have had no end of fun discovering just who I am!

So read, voraciously, but absorb only the information that resonates in your soul from the great spiritual teachers. Take what you need then meditate on it and grow from it.

Many Blessings!

The Beginning (what else?)

You've asked, so I'm answering: "How do you keep smiling with everything you deal with?"

My humble beginnings, lol. That's where it always starts, isn't it?

I grew up in New Jersey, lower-middle class, and I was loved very well. My family attended church semi-regularly. That is to say, more often than just Easter and Christmas. It was often enough that I developed a strong faith, not only in God, but in my ability to communicate with Him, very early on.

What does that have to do with anything?

I run on instincts and I trust in the Universal energy that brings us all together. Call it God, the Great Spirit, the Universal Source of all things, it really doesn't matter. What matters is that it's very real and it is my foundation.

Peace. The process.
Newton's Third Law of motion states:

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Everything in your life is completely in your control. EVERYTHING. So, when you find yourself in a tough spot, do you get tougher? Do you fight when confronted? That's how they do it on TV! That's what celebrities do!
I had a conversation at the gym yesterday with a teaching nurse. She works in a local hospital where she not only deals with her patients and nursing students, she also has superiors to answer to, for herself and her whole department. She was extremely frustrated with a superior who consistently discourages her students by being verbally abusive, and giving good students, poor performance evaluations. Her first reaction? She got angry, stormed into said superiors office and gave her a piece of her mind, essentially putting her own job in jeopardy.

What would you do?

Early on, I found my peace as a result of chaos. Whenever something went other than according to plan, my instinct was to go to my cave. Get quiet, or even sleep. I put as much distance between myself and unpleasantness as I possibly could. In that quiet, I found me. The real me. My Blessed Higher Self. That part of me who still lives on the other side. Home. In communing with the highest part of me, I find my peace.

Then, for a long time, I would go into that space to prepare for any chaos I may encounter. It took a conscious effort to "go there" and quiet my mind. Today, it's part of who I am. I simply don't allow stress to be a part of my life. I live in the moment, and I handle each new situation as it arises  I do not allow myself to marinate and stew on a problem. The second I have something or someone to deal with, I do it.

I'm going to share some of the daily things I encounter and how I handle them as they come up, in this blog.
